Downtown L.A. Boudoir

I had the pleasure to shoot a boudoir session at a Downtown L.A. showroom a few weeks ago and it was an amazing experience. This place was huge, so many details, decor and clothing...I've died and gone to clothing heaven. I shot Gigi at Tanda Showroom and at the rooftop of the building.

Tanda actually has 2 showrooms: Mens and Womens. We ended up shooting in the women's which is a very dangerous place for me (and my eyes) to be.

We intended for this shoot to be boudoir but why not have fun with it? Upon entering the showroom in the very beginning I noticed this bicycle hanging out and thought maybe we could incorporate it. Gigi was such a sport so we ended up taking the bike up the rooftop (along with this amazing luggage) for a different type of shoot. We chose Gigi's yellow dress amongst the hundreds and hundreds of clothing and thought it was a perfect match for her. In case you guys were wondering who the designer is, it's called Dear Creatures. Since then I've been obsessing over how cute the clothing line is (and apparently a clothing favorite of Zooey Deschanel...I love her style! Ok, I digress).

A rather cute detail on the bicycle handle bars.

What an amazing shoot and amazing experience!

Teaser: Downtown L.A. Boudoir

12.01.11

It's the beginning of a new month. WOW. Here's a teaser of a boudoir shoot I did a few weeks ago. Here's a note about boudoir photography:

I thought long and hard about getting into boudoir for the sole fact that it's a very intimate photo session, clients are letting you into a very intimate moment. So it's very important to make them feel comfortable. You've probably thought why am I posting these sessions on my blog, well...I do it, with PERMISSION. When it comes to boudoir's I don't just post as I please. I ask clients for permission to post certain photos. Nothing too risque goes online, those are saved for that special someone in my clients' lives.

So keep posted, because a really amazing Downtown L.A. rooftop/showroom boudoir shoot is well under way!

One of my favorite photos. Her eyes are just so captivating.

I always encourage my future brides to be or clients in general to never be afraid of incorporating jewelry...and lots and lots of it too.

So here's what I always say (and I stand by my words) when a woman feels sensual or sexy, anything and everything she does from how she touches her hair to the way she plays with her earrings (above) will always come off sensual and sexy.

"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls."
- Audrey Hepburn

Boudoir photography has become another passion of mine. Beautiful, soft, feminine, organic, honest and confident. Definitely a wonderful gift for that significant other and a gift to yourself.
