Lollipop, Tutu (and a whole-lotta-running)

12.29.11

Here's yet another fun and fantabulous family shoot I had the pleasure of capturing at Abalone Cove in Palos Verdes. The Wun family came armed with ridiculously cute outfits for their kiddos and props to keep them "entertained" (I use this word loosely since entertainment could turn into a cool distraction). While the photos seemed like it was taken during the Spring it was actually cold. How cold? Well, cold enough for me to wear Lawrence's comfy down jacket (Ohh yeah, when shooting kids/family portraiture, I dress down...wayyyy down). Anyway Michelle, Daycon, Daniel and Mckenzie (if she could talk) braved the cold weather and the outcome turned into quiet a remembrance. By the way, at the end of our shoot, Michelle's family stopped by for a little fun.

I freaked out when I saw Mckenzie's clothes the second she was brought out of the car: pink tutu with flowers and this off white boots...to-die-for.

Poor thing. Being the center of attention in a photo shoot is hard work! You have to take refuge somewhere right? That's what moms' blanket's for.

Daniel was just too proud of his oversized lollipop. I think I've blogged (or Facebooked) how much appreciation I now have for lollipops as big as my head.

I told the gang to do something funny. Honestly, I never thought how awesome AND funny this picture would turn out.

3's A Charm

11.29.11

Me and Lawrence had the pleasure to photograph not one but 3 cool kids: Jacob, Katelyn and Connor (the little one is Connor). You'd think that taking photos of children could be difficult but so far it's been nothing but fun in our experience. We headed to Irvine Regional Park for this fun trio shoot. Enjoy!

Katelyn loves her red dress and her red shoes. I love this shot because it reminded me so much of The Wizard of Oz.

Katelyn has a rock collection at home and thus being on a dry river bed was fascinating for her because she literally picked up rocks and started showing them to me! I think us girls hit it off rather well.

15

Connor wanted to join in on the fun so of course he started picking up and throwing rocks as well.

This was so amazing to shoot. We didn't have to work hard to have Connor do what is brother and sister was doing. Everyone was just having a blast with the leaves. It was a beautiful Fall day (the leaves were a little wet) but these 3 were such sports and they didn't care.

Here's one more mention. The day of the photo shoot was actually Connor's 2nd birthday. In all honestly, these three as such close siblings. I'm sure they have their quarrels but the way they are with each other is amazing to watch. Hopefully (someday) me and Lawrence will enjoy a cute bunch of our own. Maybe 3...or 4...or 5. Cheers!

Little & Lovely: Baby Emmy

What do you get with a sunny Sunday afternoon and an awesome mom and dad to boot?? You get Baby Emmy! Emmy was 7 weeks old during her shoot and she was an absolute hoot to photograph. There were moments when she just stared at the camera channeling her best Sunset Blvd. look.

We just love this shot! With no care in the background Emmy does her thing.

We were mesmerized by the color of eyes (I say greyish with a tint of blue but some aheemmmm (Lawrence) begs to differ. I mean, how can you not get lost in them? They're gorgeous!

I couldn't resist from putting this photo up. Jen and Eric wanted us to take photos of Emmy during her bath time, to see how calmed and relaxed she would be. I don't think Emmy particularly liked her little mohawk. The adults had a kick out of this more than she did but even when she cried she was still such an adorable little peanut!

Thank you to the Bassiks' for a wonderful shoot with Baby Emmy! Wishing much happiness ahead for your beautiful family of 3.
