Bows & A Cute Little Pup: Irvine Engagement

12.15.11

So you guys don't know how much I actually love New York and what better way to stir that dream of living there someday than to shoot a couple who's actually from there. Well Kris is from New York (Long Island to be exact) and Megan is from Nor Cal, butttt they met in New York. They met 4 years ago at a Dave & Busters. Megan said to me that on their 3rd date Kris brought her flowers that matched her room's decor (now THAT is what I call paying attention). I spoke to Kris about moving out west and he says CA is actually where his heart is. This past December they visited Carmel River Beach and Kris proposed by writing " Will you marry me?" on the sand. I don't know how he managed to occupy Megan's mind with something else while he wrote this but it absolutely worked. I suppose there's really no other way to go when you've been writing your girlfriend aheeemmm fiance love notes on the sand since you started dating her. What an awesome couple I got a chance to work with!

Megan has these amazing blue eyes that sparkled so why not show it off?

A little tid bit: Megan designed and created and by created I mean made that dress herself! It's absolutely gorgeous in person.

Megan says she's a girly girl who happen to love bows. She's got 2 pink ribbon tattoos which graces her arms just above her elbows.

The infamous pup. And no, this little cutie is not theirs. During the shoot there was a family just to the left of us and the dog kept coming back to Megan and Kris. This is his cameo.

Kris is a big sports fan. I don't believe I've ever met anyone else who's a bigger sports fan than he is. I guess we can call him a sports fanatic.

Beads: Bridal Boudoir Teaser

11.15.11

"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls."
- Audrey Hepburn

Boudoir photography has become another passion of mine. Beautiful, soft, feminine, organic, honest and confident. Definitely a wonderful gift for that significant other and a gift to yourself.

From Santa Monica with Love

11.1.11

She was an Arizona Wildcat and he was a USC Trojan. They met through a mutual friend and shared cheers and hoorays during football games. He says that she was "the one" the second she stepped out of the car to meet him for the very first time. And although she didn't feel this way the first time, time was what both of them had to get to know each other. So the long distance relationship came into the picture. Through phone calls and airline tickets they decided to give love a try. This was back in 2005. After undergrad, she moved to California to be with him while he attended USC Law. He was meant to be a Trojan after all. He graduated and accepted a job in San Diego while she got into Medical School at USC. So once again they gave long distance relationship a try and let love perch upon their doorstep.

It was a memorable summer and Brian wanted to take Erica to a nice dinner. Looking lovely but not keeping her hopes up she greeted him as he came home from work. And although acting "strangely", Erica had a hunch that this was "it". Unfortunately, Brian forgot to take care of business (he needed to check out the beach to make sure it would be all theirs during the proposal) he was also preoccupied with a speech he prepared. So to make up for this, Brian tells Erica that he needed to get milk. Yes, milk was what came to mind. And so he's off...comes back...forgets the milk and tells Erica that the store ran out of it. It must have been the perfect day for dairy people. So they set off to see the beautiful La Jolla sun set.

He gets down on one knee: "You are my best friend because you know I'm yours", he says. She'll never forget those words. "Yes", she replies as they continue their walk to a whole new chapter in their lives.

Sunday Morning Love

There's something about young love that develops into a full blown masterpiece. Cheesy choice of words but what's love without a little cheese?

Jen and Chris met during college. Actually, they met at a toga party and when their eyes met, the story began. Chris and Jen started dating 5 1/2 years ago. With the help of Chris' fraternity brothers (and probably seeing how Chris melts when Jen's around) they decided to surprise him with making Jen a sweetheart of his fraternity. Their young love blossomed through long distance relationship, struggles and triumphs and all the pressures of graduate school...possibly also some bickering and good 'ole competition with each other since Jen is a Dodger fan and Chris is an Angels.

Chris wanted to propose on ONE of the many weekend getaways he took Jen on and unfortunately, no ring was to be had. I think Chris may have led Jen on BUT the outcome was well worth it. So, Chris took Jen to Santa Ynez for the gorgeous scenery and some wine tasting. They come across a rolling hilltop with a gorgeous view, a perfect spot for a proposal but lo and behold, Chris forgets the ring! Seriously Chris? Jen kept her composure and smile but obviously disappointed. That afternoon, they took a stroll along the beach and Chris proposed a toast. They cuddled in the blanket and celebrated the weekend. As the sun started to set, Chris got down on one knee and asked if they could have countless days like their romantic getaways and of course Jen says "Yes".
