3's A Charm

11.29.11

Me and Lawrence had the pleasure to photograph not one but 3 cool kids: Jacob, Katelyn and Connor (the little one is Connor). You'd think that taking photos of children could be difficult but so far it's been nothing but fun in our experience. We headed to Irvine Regional Park for this fun trio shoot. Enjoy!

Katelyn loves her red dress and her red shoes. I love this shot because it reminded me so much of The Wizard of Oz.

Katelyn has a rock collection at home and thus being on a dry river bed was fascinating for her because she literally picked up rocks and started showing them to me! I think us girls hit it off rather well.

Connor wanted to join in on the fun so of course he started picking up and throwing rocks as well.

This was so amazing to shoot. We didn't have to work hard to have Connor do what is brother and sister was doing. Everyone was just having a blast with the leaves. It was a beautiful Fall day (the leaves were a little wet) but these 3 were such sports and they didn't care.

Here's one more mention. The day of the photo shoot was actually Connor's 2nd birthday. In all honestly, these three as such close siblings. I'm sure they have their quarrels but the way they are with each other is amazing to watch. Hopefully (someday) me and Lawrence will enjoy a cute bunch of our own. Maybe 3...or 4...or 5. Cheers!

Handstands & Funny Faces: Alyannah & Shawn

This brother and sister duo took me on a roller coaster ride around Griffith Park. They were not afraid to get dirty, they were not afraid to show me what they found and they were not afraid to do exhibitions in front of the camera (cartwheels, handstands, etc.). What did I find? I found that Alyannah can hold a handstand for approx. 15 sec. I thought this was pretty darn long and Shawn...well...Shawn like most boys found pleasure in finding little bugs and trying to outdo his sister by locating the "BIGGEST" pine cone he could find. What I realized was how much pleasure it was to spend time and get to know children because they see the world innocently through rose colored glasses and once in a while, I may need to keep mine on a little longer than a second.

I love this photo, so adorable! What you don't know was that after the shot was taken Alyannah wiped her cheek and said "Ewwwwww" and Shawn said "Hahahaha!".
